The Philadelphia Eagle has landed

In the second round of the NFL draft the Philadelphia Eagles selected wide receiver DeSean Jackson from the University of California. Many Eagles fans were excited that they got a fast kick returner to help out there special teams. Fans were so happy to see him come out on the field and take kick returns. However fans didn't realize how good of a wide receiver he was. DeSean made a great impact which helped the Eagles score on offense. With Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown injured in the beginning of the season DeSean helped lead the Eagles team. DeSean is the number one receiver the eagles have. Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown have came back from there injuries, but they haven't been posting good numbers. DeSean leads the team with 42 receptions for 652 yards. DeSean only has one receiving touchdown. He also has played a role in the runing game rushing for 80 yards on the season with one rushing touchdown. On the punt return he has a total of 341 yards with one touchdown. Compare to other rookies DeSean Jackson is having a great year. He is most likely in the talk for rookie of the year. I am not sure if he will win, but for a rookie he is having a great season. DeSean is only 5'11 and 175 pounds which isn't very big, but size doesn't matter. You can be small and still be a great NFL player. . This kid has the potential to become a big time receiver in the NFL. He can become a big time receiver, but it is up to him. Is he willing to push himself to go that extra step. Personally I think he will push himself and become an elite player. I am excited for the future to see how DeSean will play.

Second Half Sparks Lions To Big Victory

It is not how it starts it is how you finish. The Lions struggled in the first half against N.J.I.T.making bad passes, taking bad shots, and turning the ball over. It wasn't the same Lions team that I saw against William and Mary. It looked like a different Penn State team. As bad as the Lions were playing they still had a 37-29 lead at halftime. However in the second half the Nittany Lions came out firing. They started the second half on a 14-0 run which then gave them a comfortable lead. What helped the Lions dominate in the second half was there intensity, and there pressure on defense. The Lions forced turnovers which helped lead to easy points. N.J.I.T. put up a fight in the first half, but struggled in the second half shooting 19%. This lead to a 74-47 victory for the Lions. Super Sophomore Talor Battle lead the way with 16 points, six assists, and 5 rebounds. Sophomore David Jackson had a good performance posting 13 points. Senior Danny Morrissey scored 12 points shooting 4 for 8 from the three point line. Senior Stanly Pringle also added 10 points for the Nittany Lions. Freshmen Chris Babb, and Cammeron Woodyard got some time combining for seven points. Penn State's next game is on Thursday November 17th against the Hartford Hawks. This game is on at 7pm and will be televised by the Big Ten network. Penn State is 2-0 and Hartford is 0-2

Prediction:
Penn State- 75
Hartford- 56
Why?- Look for Super Sophomore Talor Battle to have another big game, and look for the Lions defensive to force alot of turnovers. Jamelle Cornley didn't produce that many points against N.J.I.T. so look for him to have a big game, and dominate the boards.

Big Ten Champion?

On November 22 up at Happy Valley we will decide who the Big Ten champion will be. The #8 Lions will look to secure the championship with a win. However the #15 Spartans need to win at Penn State in front of a hostile crowd and need #10 Ohio State to lose in order to be crown the Big Ten champ. If they win and Ohio State wins then they will both share the Big Ten tittle. However Ohio State would make the rose bowl because they beat Michigan State during the season.#10 Ohio State can win the big ten title with a win and a Nittany Lions loss. In order for the Nittany Lions to win this game they need to score points on offense and they have to stop Javon Ringer. Daryll Clark needs to play well, and he can't make any mistakes. The offense relies on him. He is the man that gets everything going. If he doesn't play well than the Lions could lose this game. The Offensive Line needs to do good to. They need to block for Evan Royster. If they can block for him than Michigan State will be in trouble. I have seen Royster run and when he gets blocking than he can make things happen. The Lions have to contain Javon Ringer on defense. If Javon gets some blocking than he will run all over PSU. The Key for Michigan State to win is to run the ball well and force turnovers. Michigan State is a better running team than a passing team in my opinion. On defense they have to play tough and force turnovers. The Spartans must play good in order to win this game. Penn State has a good offense and they have to stop them, or they will lose

Key Players:
Penn State- Daryll Clark, Evan Royster, Derrick Williams, Penn State's Defense
Michigan State- Javon Ringer, Brian Hoyer,Mark Dell, Michigan State's Defense

Prediction:
Penn State- 35
Michigan State- 17
Why?- Penn State dreams of making the national championship game was shattered two weeks ago against Iowa, and they will not lose this game. They want that rose bowl birth and they will get it. They are playing at home for the big ten title. There is going to be over 100,000 people at the game. Look for the crowd to play a factor in the game.

Men's basketball opens season with victory

The Nittany Lions defeated William and Mary 65-51 on Friday night. Somphomore Talor Battle lead the way with 21 points. Battle also had five rebounds and three steals. Senior forward Jamelle Cornley had his ninth career double-double scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Cornly moved to 20th all-time on the Penn State career scoring list with 1,062 points. Senior guard Stanly Pringle had 12 points and somphomore David Jacskon had nine points. Penn State lead the game 8-0 and never looked back after that. Penn State lead at halftime 35-24. They out scored the Tribe 10-4 to start the second half to grab its biggest lead of the game, 45-28. After this lead Penn State controlled the rest of the game. A key to Penn State's victory was shooting percentage and turnovers. William and Mary shoot 38% and had 15 turnovers. Penn State shoot 47% and had 13 turnovers. It was a great performance by the Nittany Lions. Penn State will take on N.J.I.T. on November 17 at 7 pm. The game is on the Big Ten network if you would like to watch it. Penn State is 1-0 and N.J.I.T. is 0-1.

Penn State defeats Indiana

Penn State earned its 10th victory as they defeated Indiana 34-7. Penn State was led by wide receiver Derrick Williams who had 164 all purpose yards. Derrick had 61 rushing yards and 62 receiving yards. He had a rushing and a receiving touchdown. Wide receiver Deion Butler became Penn State's all time career reception leader with 172 receptions passing Bobby Engram who had 167. Running back Evan Royster had another solid performance with 12 carries for 61 yards and had a rushing touchdown. Daryll Clark had a solid performance throwing for 240 yards and had 2 passing touchdowns. Penn State's defense played alot better than they did against Iowa. Penn State's defense held Indiana to 7 points, and held there offense to a total of 185 yards. Everyone on Penn State's defense did an excellent job. Penn State had 23 players who each recorded at least one tackle. Penn state has a tough match up next week against Michigan State. Michigan State is led by running back Javon Ringer which will test Penn State's defense. This game is for the Big ten Title. This game is on Saturday November 23 and will be televised by ABC.
